Installing PDF Daisy on macOS
PDF Daisy for Mac is code-signed with an Apple Developer ID and notarized by Apple, so it installs like any other Mac app — no security workarounds needed.
Which download do I need?
There are two Mac downloads. Pick one:
| Download | Runs on | Size |
|---|---|---|
| PDF-Daisy-1.0.30-arm64.dmg | Apple Silicon Macs (M1, M2, M3, M4 and later) | ~126 MB |
| PDF-Daisy-1.0.30-universal.dmg | Any Mac — Apple Silicon and Intel | ~218 MB |
Not sure? Choose the universal download — it works on every Mac. It’s just a larger file.
Requires macOS 12 Monterey or later.
To check which chip your Mac has: open the Apple menu → About This Mac.
- Chip: Apple M1 (or M2, M3, M4…) → either download works; arm64 is smaller.
- Processor: Intel → use the universal download. The arm64 version will not open on an Intel Mac.
Install
- Download the
.dmgfile you chose. - Double-click it to open the disk image.
- Drag PDF Daisy onto the Applications folder shortcut.
- Eject the disk image (drag it to the Trash, or click ⏏ in Finder’s sidebar).
- Open PDF Daisy from your Applications folder or Launchpad.
The first time you open it, macOS shows a standard prompt: “PDF Daisy” is an app downloaded from the Internet. Are you sure you want to open it? Click Open. You won’t see it again.
Updating
Download the new version and drag it into Applications the same way. When Finder asks, choose Replace. Your settings and recent files are kept.
Troubleshooting
- “You can’t open the application because it is not supported on this type of Mac” — you’re on an Intel Mac with the arm64 download. Delete it and install the universal download instead.
- The app is “damaged” or won’t open after copying from another Mac — re-download the
.dmgfrom this page; the file was likely altered or only partly copied.
